Privacy Policy

KVExplorer ("the App") is a native application for Mac, iPhone and iPad developed by Magenta Creations ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use KVExplorer and this website.

Information We Collect

The App collects nothing. It reaches no backend of ours: it runs on your device and talks directly to Cloudflare's API (api.cloudflare.com and Cloudflare's sign-in pages) with the credentials you give it. Its App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected", and the rest of this page is what keeps that true.

Feedback Form

The App collects nothing; this website has one page that does — the feedback form, and only when you choose to fill it in and press send. The App never sends feedback itself: it opens a web address in your browser and stops.

We receive what you typed — the subject and the details — and your email address if you chose to give one. The address is optional; leave it blank and the report is anonymous, and we will still read it.

Opening the form from inside the App (Help → Send Feedback) also fills in four technical facts: your KVExplorer version, your operating system version, your device's model identifier (like Mac16,10), and your language. They arrive in the web address itself, so you can read them in your browser's address bar before anything is sent, and the form shows them as ordinary editable fields you can change or clear. Nothing is hidden. That is the entire list — never your username, your device's name, any account, namespace or key name, or any identifier that would let two reports be recognised as coming from the same device.

Submissions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database hosted in Western Europe and emailed to support@mgcrea.io so we can reply. We keep them for twelve months, then delete them. They are never used for marketing, never sold, and never shared. The form sets no cookie, and nothing in the code that handles your submission ever reads or stores your IP address. To have a submission deleted sooner, email support@mgcrea.io.

Sign-in and API Tokens

"Sign in with Cloudflare" opens Cloudflare's own sign-in page; you type your Cloudflare password there, never into the App. What the App receives is an access grant for the permissions you approved, which it keeps in the Keychain, your device's encrypted credential store. An API token you paste instead is kept the same way. Your credentials are:

• Never sent to us
• Never stored in plain text
• Only used to authenticate directly with Cloudflare
• Kept on the device that stored them — KVExplorer has no iCloud sync, so nothing is copied to your other devices

Signing out in the App revokes its grant and deletes the stored credential. You can also revoke a grant at any time from your Cloudflare dashboard.

Your KV Data

Keys, values and metadata you browse, edit, import or export travel directly between your device and Cloudflare's API. We never intercept, store, or have access to them. A file you export is written where you choose to save it, and nowhere else.

Local wrangler dev Projects

On the Mac you can add a Wrangler project folder to browse its local KV store. The App reads that folder read-only, through a permission you grant by choosing it, and copies the store into its own temporary folder so it never touches a running wrangler dev. Nothing from the project leaves your Mac.

Analytics & Tracking

The KVExplorer app does not include any analytics, telemetry, or tracking frameworks. We do not collect usage data or behavioral information.

This website is separate from the app, and it does keep visitor statistics. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device — no identifier between page loads, no localStorage, and no fingerprinting of your browser or IP address. Because nothing is written to or read from your device, this needs no consent banner under the ePrivacy Directive (in France, Article 82 of the loi Informatique et Libertés), and there is none.

Sent on each page view: the page address, the address you came from, your browser and operating system, your screen size, and page load timings. Cloudflare derives an approximate country from your IP address and does not pass the address itself to us. We see aggregate totals only — never a profile, never an individual, and never anything across other websites. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in understanding how our own site is used; Cloudflare acts as our processor under its Data Processing Addendum. Any content blocker stops the script loading.

Apple Crash Reporting

If you have opted into sharing analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports. This is controlled entirely by your settings and is not something we can enable or configure.

Third-Party Services

The App communicates with the following third-party services:

• Cloudflare — its API and sign-in pages, to list and edit your KV namespaces with the credentials you provide
• Apple App Store — for in-app purchases and restoring them, managed by Apple

App Sandbox

KVExplorer runs within the App Sandbox, which restricts its access to your system. It can only read files and folders you explicitly choose.

Children's Privacy

KVExplorer is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
